ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

The Ruth & Isaac Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the caregivers. Every day, millions give their time, energy, and hearts to loved ones, quietly and often unseen. We exist to honor them, support them, and help them heal.

OUR MISSION

To uplift weary, wounded warriors, caregivers, through validation, practical planning, and community.

We believe no caregiver should feel invisible or alone.

Our work is built on four values:

  • Faith – Grounding caregivers in hope.
  • Compassion – Seeing and honoring their sacrifices.
  • Practical Support – Offering tools that bring relief.
  • Community – Building networks that restore strength and joy.

THE NEED

Caregiving is love in action, but it comes at a cost.

  • 43.5M unpaid caregivers in the U.S.
  • $196B+ in annual unpaid labor value.
  • $7K → $13K: average yearly out-of-pocket expenses (2016–2019).
  • 60% of caregivers also hold paid jobs while providing care.

Caregivers give so much. Who cares for them?

Born from a Story of Devotion, Sacrifice, & Unseen StrengtH

The Ruth & Isaac Project was founded by Racheal Ankrah-Fosu

A wife, mother, and caregiver who walked through one of life’s greatest trials, caring for her husband, Dominic, after a sudden stroke changed their family’s trajectory overnight. What began as a deeply personal journey of love and sacrifice has become a movement dedicated to uplifting caregivers across the nation.

Why Ruth?

The biblical Ruth is a symbol of unwavering loyalty and sacrificial love. When given the option to return to her old life, Ruth chose instead to care for her mother-in-law, Naomi, declaring:

“Where you go, I will go. Your people will be my people. Your God will be my God.”
(Ruth 1:16)

Ruth gave up everything: her home, her comfort, her future plans to care for someone in need. She represents every modern-day caregiver who stays when it would be easier to walk away, who gives without asking for anything in return.

Why Isaac?

Isaac represents the modern caregiver,

men and women of great humility and strength who care not out of obligation, but out of compassion and brotherhood. In the presentation, we learn of Isaac, a caregiver originally from Ghana, who became like a brother to Dominic.

He left his own family behind to care for Dominic around the clock not because he had to, but because he believed:

“I am my brother’s keeper.”

Isaac cared far beyond his duty, bringing faith, friendship, and humanity into caregiving. His story embodies the heart of millions who stand in the gap every day, unseen but deeply impactful.
